My response...What's good fam?Peace be upon you my good brother!I've read your write up on you in The Hip Hop Giselle and I definitely feel your pain homie!Sometimes I believe that alot of people already in the industry miss the vision of a "true" artist due to the pressures of creating a so-called "hit record"!My experience with music has allowed me to enjoy timeless creations over the fast-paced microwavable product that is created and passed off as "music" today!Now,enough about my jaded view of the music industry fam!lol.Back to you homie!When I listen to your music I immediately notice one thing...your powerful vocals!Sometimes our voice is the most critical instrument when creating songs!But...we also have to keep in mind the feeling or the mood of the music!I understand your vision as far as wanting to create a "new" sound and pave your own lane so to speak in the industry.But,sometimes we try to be a lil "too" different in our goals and creative process that many record labels can't and won't take the time to try and see "the bigger picture"!Don't get me wrong...DIFFERENT is good to a certain degree!But in this day and age the indutry has to be able to compare you to something!Which I'm a not a big fan of,but whatever gets you closer to that dream homie!lol.
But like I mentioned,the labels and A & R's have to be able to compare you to somebody in order to sell that vison to the brain dead public these days!Who only follow what MTV and BET feed them visually!So when I listen to your voice,I immediately thought of Anthony Hamilton!Voice-wise that is!But,when I think of how you wanna move musically,I immediately thought of John Legend!Not vocally,but musically!Which,in my opinion,is an ill combination!To be able to fuse the two is not hard,but many people haven't stepped to it like that!Have you ever thought about reaching out to the producers of these artists?Cats like James Poyser,?uestlove,and Karriem Riggins?I don't know if you follow their discography,but you might wanna check into that and peep the sound a lil!I can even hear you with a lil Raphael Saddiq vibe!Look at what him and ?uestlove did for D'Angelo's Voodoo album!Joint was dumb crazy!But,anyways,enough rambling from me homie!You can find these cats on myspace and holla!Stay peace!-Will

Sorry is right. I never once asked you for your opinion. And I've lived long enough to steadfast in my commitment not to explain myself. You know the problem with our culture is that people think that they have to speak because they're spoken to. It's not always the case. What you do and what I do are 2 different things. We're in 2 different worlds. You could've just said "Thanks for the Add"..and kept it gully. But you had to give me your booty scratchin opinion from your experience and then rate and compare me.
